1. Introduction
The Authorial Method is the core of my entire practice. It is not a collection of techniques or software-specific workflows, but a consistent approach to perceiving, constructing, and developing the plasticity of form. This method unites Original Works, Commercial Solutions, and every direction of the studio’s practice.
2. Foundation
The Authorial Method consists of five consecutive stages:
- Primary Mass
- Blocking
- Structural Forms
- Refinement
- Final Surface
This sequence remains unchanged regardless of the project. Each stage addresses a specific formal problem. In some projects individual stages may merge, but the overall structure of the method always remains the same.
3. Plasticity Principles
The Authorial Method is applied through Plasticity Principles.
Each principle demonstrates how the general method is applied to a specific problem of plasticity. Together they form a continuously expanding body of research that develops alongside the practice.
Examples include:
- Scale Princeple
- Fur Princeple
- Feather Princeple
- Skin Fold Princeple
- Relief Scene Construction
These are not separate methods. They are different applications of the same Authorial Method to different problems of plasticity.
4. Universal Application
The Authorial Method is independent of tools, spatial constraints, and the final format. Its purpose is the construction and development of the plasticity of form.
The plasticity of form can be expressed through different artistic means. The method itself remains unchanged; only the means of expression change.
In sculpture, the plasticity of form is expressed through mass and volume.
In painting, the same plasticity of form is developed through color relationships.
In visualization, lighting and materials continue to reveal and reinforce the same plasticity of form.
The method also makes no distinction between full-round sculpture and relief. These are different spatial conditions for expressing the same plasticity of form. Relief operates within limited depth, while full-round sculpture is free from that limitation, yet the method remains identical.
Likewise, the method does not distinguish between panels, coins, collectible sculpture, architectural relief, or other formats. They are different carriers of the same plastic language rather than different disciplines.
For this reason, digital sculpture, in my practice, is understood as a broader artistic discipline rather than a single stage of production. It is not limited to constructing mass or volume. The same Authorial Method naturally continues through color, lighting, materials, production adaptation, and transformation into different formats, preserving a single approach to the plasticity of form throughout.
5. Summary
The Authorial Method is a unified system for constructing and developing the plasticity of form.
Its five consecutive stages provide a consistent structural framework, while Plasticity Principles continuously expand the ways in which the method is applied.
Regardless of artistic medium, spatial constraints, production tools, or final format, the method itself remains unchanged. Sculpture expresses the plasticity of form through mass and volume; painting develops it through color relationships; visualization continues it through lighting and materials.
For this reason, digital sculpture, in my practice, is not an isolated discipline but a central language through which a unified authorial method extends across different artistic media and production formats.
